There are less than 17,000 gorilla beringei left in the world, also known as the eastern lowland gorilla. This majestic animal is the largest gorilla species and is critically endangered because of poaching (to be sold and mounted on a wall), consumed as exotic meat, and habitat loss due to human greed and illegal mining. They reside in the two national parks of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This is my second single from my upcoming album "Extinction", which is about the sixth wave of extinction that we are currently living in. Sixth! I will never understand why people would want to kill animals or harm our planet. Every day up to 150 species are lost. Without the work of park rangers, conservation programs, and working with local people and government, gorilla beringei would already be extinct. You can help save these precious animals by purchasing sustainable wood, learning about sustainable forestry and ecotourism, and donating to the WWF or AFW.
